Our company history: from foundation to market leader

Each company has its own story. But the history of UTEX is not just about production. This is a story about people who, despite losses, restored what was destroyed, improved technologies and became an example of how Ukrainian business can be strong, flexible and unbreakable. We have gone from the first kilometers of cable to the status of a national leader — and then only forward.
UTEX Ukraine — the path of formation
Company UTEX Ukraine was founded in 2015 with the ambitious goal of creating a domestic fiber optic cable production capable of competing with global brands. Starting from a small production base, from the first days we focused on quality, manufacturability and stability.
The company’s priority has been and remains — the production of high-quality optical cable, the use of modern equipment and compliance with international standards.
Why do we focus on the word “quality”? Because Utex cables meet the declared characteristics. That is why already in the first years we achieved a more than 25% share in the national market among fiber optic cable (VOC) manufacturers.
Trials of War: Destroying the Plant
2022 was the biggest challenge in the company’s history. The full-scale war has affected every Ukrainian, and our team is no exception. The most painful consequence was loss of production site in Chernihiv.
At the beginning of March 2022, our plant was subjected to direct rocket fire. Almost everything was destroyed: production equipment, infrastructure, warehouses of materials and finished products. Only technical documentation and a small part of raw materials were saved. It was a shock. But we decided not to give up.
The Renaissance and the New Age
After the loss of the plant, we could close the business or move production. However, they chose the most difficult, but the most correct way — resume production in their native Chernihiv.
How did we rise from the ruins
Within six months, we found equipment from another non-working enterprise, took it out of the front line, and restarted full-fledged cable production. Already in September 2022, the UTEX plant again produced the first kilometers of fiber-optic cable. It was not just a production process — it was a rebuilding faith, business, and state.
Factory Today: Technology, Control, Standards
Today, UTEX is a modern high-tech enterprise, completely renewed, with enhanced quality control, new lines and ambitious plans.
Production in numbers
In order not to be unfounded, our figures indicate the volume of our production:
- up to 6,000 km of cable monthly
- more than 220 models of VOK
- 7 regional offices in Ukraine
- Every 4th km of cable in Ukraine is a Utex</li cable>
- The length of the built optical networks on the Utex cable is 70% of the total length of all roads in Ukraine
- ISO 9001:2015 / ISO 14001:2015
We check every stage — from incoming control of raw materials to testing of finished products. Quality is not declared – it is confirmed every day in practice.

Future Plans: Course for the World Market
We are confidently looking ahead. Having resumed Ukrainian production, UTEX set a new goal — development of exports to the international market. Negotiations are already underway with partners from different countries to conclude cooperation, new optical cable designs atypical for the national market are being developed.
Our task is to show that Ukrainian manufacturer can be reliable, competitive and worthy of a global level.

UTEX is not just a company. This is a symbol of Ukrainian resilience, this is a team that does not give up even in the darkest times. We have proven that even after complete destruction, it is possible to return — and become even stronger. The resilience and invincibility that we have invested in ourselves have become the basis of quality, which distinguishes UTEX and its products.
