OCW Simplex 2.8 mm G.657.A1 is a standard single-mode optical cable for the manufacture of yellow connecting cords (patch cords). It is used in telecommunications equipment, server rooms and data centres. By default, it has G.657.A1 type fibre with increased flexibility. The strength element is aramid filaments that prevent excessive tension in the middle of the fibre when connecting optical cords. The sheath is made of halogen-free material (LSZH), which ensures safe use in indoor environments. The cable diameter is 2.8 mm. Alternative names: patch cord cable, simplex cable.
